Nailart: Purple flowers and studs

Hey everyone,

just a quick post about this very purple mani for you, for some reason I have been reaching for purple polish quite a lot lately, even more than for pink! 

My only pick after browsing swatches and YouTube reviews on the OPI Hawaii Collection was Lost My Bikini In Molokini. The other ones didn't really appeal to me, either I didn't really love the colors or they looked like something I already have in my collection. But I'm always up for a good purple and after discovering my love for Do You Have That Color In Stock-Holm from the OPI Nordic Collection, I had to get my hands on this one ;) It's as gorgeous as I imagined it, perfection in 2 coats.

So I paired it with PicturePolish Lizzie and painted some accent flowers, adding some studs in the making. 

I have to admit that I am not too thrilled with Lizzie, it took three coats for the opaqueness you see here in the pic. Normally I really love Picture Polish and I am not saying this one is a total let down, but it's just not quite what I would have liked it to be somehow. Still is sparkly and pretty nonetheless :)

Review: Miss Sophie's Summer Collection

ich habe letzte Woche wieder Post von MissSophies bekommen und drin war die neue Sommer Kollektion! Die Designs sind wirklich super süß, wie großartig sind bitte die Flamingos?! Die drei Designs sind eine Limited Edition und sind ab dem 18.03.2015 im Onlinestore von MissSophies erhältlich.

Hey everyone, 

I received some awesome nail mail last week, the lovely Anna from MissSophies sent me their new summer collection! The designs are all so pretty, how adorable are those little Flamingos?! The three designs are a Limited Edition and will be available at the MissSophies online store as of March 18th 2015.

Das erste Design heißt Sweet Pineapple, finde ich super cool und mal was anderes! Hab die Nagelfolien hier nur auf die beiden mittleren Nägel geklebt und die beiden anderen Nägel mit China Glaze Shore Enuff lackiert und mit ein paar goldenen Steinchen verziert. Finde die Ananas total toll und werde sie im Sommer bestimmt häufiger mal tragen! :)

The first design is called Sweet Pineapple and I think it's super cute!! I only used the nail wraps on my middle and ring finger and painted my pointer and pinky with China Glaze Shore Enuff and added some studs. Really love this combination and I can definitely see myself wearing these pineapple wraps in summer!

Das nächste Design heißt LA Sunset - Palmen vor dem Sonnenuntergang, hätte ich jetzt gern! ;) Das beste an diesen Nagelfolien: man kann sich das ganze sauber machen nach dem gradient sparen, einfach aufkleben und das wars, perfekt!

The next design is called LA Sunset, I wouldn't mind this in real life right now tbh ;) The best thing about these nail wraps: no need to do any gradient clean-up! Just stick them on and you're ready to go!

Und das beste kommt zum Schluss: Flamingos!!! :) Wie süß sind die bitte?! Pinke Flamingos auf mint färbendem Hintergrund? Ja bitte!! Hier in Kombination mit Essie Boom Boom Room und OPI It's Frosty Outside.

Nailart: Leopard print / LoveAngeline

Hey everyone,

I've been admiring the LoveAngeline Harmonious Gemstones Collection for ages and my favourite has always been Orchestrated Amethyst, so I was thrilled to have it in my #SecretIndieAdmirer swap package!! I immediately had to do a design using it and decided on (surprise) Leopard Print.

I paired it with Essie Go Ginza and China Glaze Liquid Leather and some studs by BornPrettyStore.

Review: MissSophies Nailwraps

Hallo ihr Lieben,

heute wollte ich eine kleine Review zu den Nailwraps/Nagelfolien von MissSophies schreiben, da diese so lieb waren und mir angeboten haben drei ihrer Designs zu testen! 
Es ist auch das erste Mal, dass ich einen Blogpost auf Deutsch und Englisch schreibe, whoohoo! ;)

today I wanted to review some nail wraps by the german brand MissSophies, as they kindly sent me some of their designs to try out! 
As it's a german brand, this is also my first time writing a blogpost in German as well as in English! :)



Die Marke MissSophies ist ein Startup aus Berlin und macht tolle Nagelfolien die man sich, statt die Nägel zu lackieren, einfach aufkleben kann. Als mich Anna von MissSophies ansprach, ob ich nicht Lust hätte ihre Designs mal zu testen, sagte ich natürlich sofort ja - obwohl ich mit solchen Produkten eher ein wenig auf Kriegsfuß stehe..

MissSophies is a startup from Berlin that makes nail wraps with cute designs which you can apply to your nails instead of polish. Of course I said yes when they asked me if I would like to try some of their designs, even though I have a love/hate relationship with nail wraps in general.. 

Diese drei Designs habe ich mir ausgesucht, ganz oben liegt XOXO, darunter Sleeping Beauty und ganz unten Vintage Roses. Es gibt eine tolle Auswahl an schicken Designs auf der Website und es war gar nicht so leicht mich festzulegen, aber da ich Blümchen und Herzen einfach toll finde, meine freehand skills aber leider nicht besonders gut sind, dachte ich mir das dies die beste Wahl für mich wäre. Die Packungen sind sehr schick und hochwertig, in jeder sind 20 wraps in verschiedenen Größen enthalten.

I chose these three designs, up on top is XOXO, beneath that is Sleeping Beauty and at the bottom you can see Vintage Roses. There is a big assortment of gorgeous nail wraps to chose from on the website, so it was hard picking only three! But as I love roses and hearts - and my freehand skills suck - I thought these were perfect for me. The packaging is really pretty and very high quality, each pack containes 20 nail wraps in different sizes.

Am meisten aufgeregt war ich darüber, dass in meinem Paket gleich ein Topcoat von MissSophies enthalten war, der extra für die Nagelfolien gemacht ist! Als ich das letzte Mal Topcoat über Nailwraps aufgetragen habe, ging das nämlich ganz schön nach hinten los.. und ich kann auf Topcoat generell einfach nicht verzichten, wenn ich mir die Nägel mache. Daher fand ich es großartig, dass MissSophies hier mitgedacht und speziell einen Topcoat für ihre Wraps entwickelt hat!
Auch dabei war eine Glasfeile, was mich auch sehr begeistert hat! Total hochwertig, plus kleines Samttäschen für die Aufbewahrung, fand ich wirklich total spitze :)

What I was most excited about, was that in addition to the wraps, MissSophies also included a topcoat that they especially made to go with their wraps! The last time I wore wraps and put on topcoat, everything went downhill from there... but for me, topcoat isn't optional when doing my nails, it's a must. Therefore I was really impressed they formulated their very own topcoat to go with their wraps!
My package also came with a little glass file to trim the wraps when applying, which I really liked as well! A high quality file plus a little velvet pouch to store it in - love it! :)

Als erstes Design wollte ich Sleeping Beauty ausprobieren. Ich habe nicht alle Nägel mit Wraps beklebt, da ich das für mich persönlich ein bisschen überwältigend fand. Ich hab mich also entschieden nur einige zu bekleben und die anderen Nägel schwarz zu lackieren, dazu hab ich ChinaGlaze Liquid Leather benutzt.

Die Wraps zieht man von der durchsichtigen Folie ab und platziert sie dann auf dem Nagel, am besten erst mittig und streicht sie dann zu allen Seiten glatt. Normalerweise schmeisse ich spätestens hier das Handtuch und entscheide mich doch dagegen sie zu tragen, da ich nail wraps nie, nie glatt gezogen bekomme und sie überall Falten werfen, egal wie viel Mühe ich mir gebe! Allerdings war ich von diesen hier sehr positiv überrascht, da sie sich super einfach anbringen ließen! Ich habe keine einzige Falte gehabt und war mit dem Ergebnis wirklich sehr zufrieden! 

Den Überschuss an Nagelfolie habe ich dann am Ende des Nagels über den Rand nach unten geknickt und mit der Glasfeile von oben nach unten weg gefeilt. Fertig! 

Anschließend habe ich den Topcoat über die Nägel aufgetragen, an denen ich die Nagelfolien getragen habe. Hat wunderbar funktioniert und die Designs gut versiegelt. Ich habe das Ganze von Sonntag bis Freitag getragen und kann mich null beschweren. Die Haltbarkeit war fantastisch und es sah toll aus! Man kann zwischendurch nochmal mit dem Topcoat drüber um neuen Glanz zu geben, aber nicht mal das fand ich nötig.

I wanted to try the Sleeping Beauty design first. I didn't put wraps on all of my nails because I thought that was a bit too overwhelming as an everyday look for me. So I put the wraps on some of the nails and painted the rest with China Glaze Liquid Leather. 

For application, you peel one of the wraps off the foil it's on and lay it onto your nail, first over the middle and then stroke it down the sides. Normally, this is the part where I just throw the towel and decide against wearing nail wraps at all. I can never, ever get them to go on smoothly, there are always crinkles that I am not able to smooth out and I get extremely frustrated!!
But not with these, they went on beautifully and I had no problems at all! 

After I had applied the nail wrap over my nail, I bent the excess of the wrap down over the end of my nail and carefully filed it away using the glass nail file and downward strokes. All done!

I then applied the MissSophies topcoat to protect the design. It went on well, bit thick maybe but I had no problems really. Drying time was ok too and my whole design held up from Sunday till Friday! If you want, you can re-apply topcoat over the wraps when you are wearing them for a longer period of time to give them some more shine if they have gone dull, but I didn't feel this was necessary! 





Ich muss wirklich sagen, dass ich sehr beeindruckt von den MissSophies Nagelfolien bin! Für jemanden der damit bisher nur schlechte Erfahrungen gemacht hat, war dies wirklich mal eine tolle Erfahrung! :) Ich werde die anderen Designs definitiv auch noch ausprobieren und wahrscheinlich muss ich sogar noch mehr davon haben! ;) Schaut gern mal bei Miss Sophies vorbei und stöbert durch den Shop, ich denke da ist bestimmt für jeden was dabei!

I really have to say that I was very impressed with MissSophies nail wraps! For someone who hasn't had the greatest experience with this kind of product, I was so happy to have my mind changed and to find a product that works for me! I will definitely be trying the other two designs they sent me soon and will probably have to get more, too ;)
